IEEE PES SBC CET in collaboration with IEEE IAS/PELS SBC CET, conducted an online open Debate competition named “WRANGLE” as part of IEEE PELS Day 2021 celebrations. The debate was conducted for a team of two members.

As a preliminary qualifying round, one member of each participating team was asked to present a video of not more than 2 minutes on the topic “Digitalization in the time of Covid” on 30th June from which two top performing teams were chosen for the final round. The final round was conducted on 4th July 2021 on the topic “Industry and Individuals should continue with virtual platforms for Research laboratories and should actively promote such initiatives”. Each round of debate had three sections: Constructive speech, Rebuttal Speech and Conclusion. The energetic and fun-filled debate came to an end with one team emerging at the top. The winning team members were Saranya Krishnan M and Salwa Firoz C M of Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering.

The winning team was awarded a Cash prize of ₹500 as well as a Certificate of Appreciation. Certificates of Participation were given to all participants.
